With market attention turning away from blue chips, investors are looking for growth opportunities in elevated markets. One of this year’s market movers has been Progressive Care Inc (OTCMKTS: RXMD), which recently announced plans to acquire Touchpoint RX pharmacy in a deal expected to close in the second quarter of 2018.

The acquisition will facilitate the Progressive’s growth plans by increasing its delivery radius into Martin County (which includes Jupiter and Stuart). Analysts also expect these plans to help decrease costs of expansion and increase the company’s prescription dispensing efficiency. Progressive has outlined plans to initiate the transition processes to begin introducing convenience packaging to the South Florida retail market.

Moving Forward in Tech

Progressive Care has become a leader in personalized healthcare services and technology – and this has enabled the company to expand its contingent of pharma-robotic equipment facilities. Foraying into the race for tech advancement, RXMD developed proprietary tele-pharmacy software to digitally communicate with patients, pharmacists, physicians, and caretakers. RXMD also announced the roll-out of its online prescription application to quicken the process prescription requests.

To further support its e-commerce capabilities, Progressive Care began accepting Bitcoin payments in February (along with its other payment platforms). Progressive’s subsidiary PharmCo LLC uses BitPay to process Bitcoin payments – and here it is clear that the company is ready to innovate in all parts of its operations. Progressive has enhanced its retail pharmacy’s technology and operations to strengthen its e-commerce platform and enable the pharmacy to reach growing numbers of people using cryptocurrencies for daily purchases.

Educating Patients and Enhancing Lives

Beyond these accomplishments, Progressive Care has demonstrated a strong interest in educating its patients and improve their lives. In the second week of June, the company announced a new program to educate patients and physicians on the treatment alternatives to opioids.

Opioids have worked as a treatment option for a multitude of diseases, but they can also be highly addicting. Every day, more than 115 people in the US die due to opioid overdoses, and roughly 29% of people prescribed opioids abuse them. Opioid abuse has become a nationwide epidemic, and Progressive’s campaign is designed to increase awareness about the medical usage of cannabis as a safer alternative to opioids.

These are quality traits for a 21st century company ready to innovate in a new and emerging marketplace. As a leading health services provider, Progressive Care looks to be on the path to move forward with its innovative technologies and established positioning within the industry.

Company Fundamentals

Essentially, these are the types of strategies that will be needed to maintain a strong growth outlook in the current market environment. As of March 31st,2018, Progressive Care’s total assets grew 49% to $3,846,041. Moreover, its operating cash flow turned positive as it increased from $-8,641 to $309,827 year-over-year, which is an increase of over 3,000%.

This could lead to analyst upgrades for the company in coming months and this is encouraging because most emerging companies typically have difficulties overcoming prevalent debt pressures.

Balance Sheet Graphic: Author

Currently, Progressive Care’s debt to free cash flow and long-term debt to total capital readings show a solid ability to pay off debt. RXMD also has low beta of -2.56, which means that the stock is less volatile and more attractive for conservative investors. RXMD also reported earnings-per-share (TTM) of -0.016, which means the company could be ready to turn to profit in the coming quarters.

Trailing Returns Source: Morningstar

All of this is designed to build on the progress the company made previously, as the group reported 24% growth in the number of prescriptions dispensed during the first quarter. This has enabled RXMD to deliver better returns relative to the industry (as shown in the graphic above). For the March 2018 quarter, RXMD’s net revenue grew 7.36% (to $5,147,345). This was aided by the fact that its wholly-owned subsidiary PharmCo, LLC filled over 22,800 prescriptions in the month of March (generated approximately $1.9 million in net revenues).

Largest Single Quarterly Revenue Performance in History

Ultimately, this made headlines in the financial news as Progressive’s revenues for the month of March revealed the largest single quarterly revenue performance in company history. In February, RXMD also reported an 8% year-over-year increase in prescriptions filled, after the 34% rise in prescriptions filled during the month of January 2018. This resulted in $1.6 million in net revenues, which is a growth of rate of 7% year-over-year. Given RXMD’s significant progress with license applications in new markets, expansion in Palm Beach, and the ongoing innovations in tele-pharmacy and the acceptance of Bitcoin for payment, strong company fundamentals support the outlook for Progressive Care RXMD in the years ahead.

The world of medical marijuana research is rapidly changing, and recent news within the industry shows that some important innovations have developed which could revolutionize the landscape.

AXIM® Biotechnologies (OTC:AXIM) (“AXIM”), the world leader in cannabinoid research and development, recently announced the first-ever successful execution of proprietary current good manufacturing practices (“cGMP”) methods to extract and microencapsulate cannabinoid molecules for a variety of pharmaceutical delivery formats from cGMP-produced medicinal cannabis.

The breakthrough makes AXIM the only company in the world with the ability to harness the proprietary procedure and provide Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (“APIs”) of such purity from naturally extracted cGMP sources.

Unprecedented Methods

AXIM’s new methods are unprecedented in terms of the nature of the process – which utilizes cGMP standards employed from the initial growing of the cannabis plants through extraction and manufacturing – leading to the highest of quality standards for APIs being met.

The process, which was developed and tested in the Netherlands under strict regulatory guidelines, involves the growing of selected cannabis plants at a cGMP facility followed by extraction of the APIs from cannabis flowers in an innovative process that employs just two steps in order to achieve an average of more than 99% purity – unlike traditional methods that include toxic solvents and multiple steps to produce the final extract or synthesize an API such as dronabinol.

Microencapsulation

AXIM’s newly developed microencapsulation method is then applied to the cannabinoids, protecting those from oxidation and degradation, while preserving its effectiveness. Finally, AXIM’s microencapsulated cannabinoids are manufactured into pharmaceutical products within different delivery format categories such as chewing gum, suppositories, transdermal delivery systems, etc.

“We’re thrilled to be able to announce this new method to the industry,” said George E. Anastassov, MD, DDS, MBA, and Chief Executive Officer of AXIM Biotech. “Our innovative extraction process achieves reliable and effective results while providing a high purity level. By microencapsulating these molecules, we are able to protect them and preserve the APIs while increasing their bioavailability and the potential therapeutic benefits for a variety of pharmaceutical applications.”

Diversified Products and Patents

To date, AXIM has formulated over 20 diversified products and possess two patents, 12 patent applications, seven registered trademarks, 15 trademark applications already allowed, and 5 pending trademark applications in the U.S. These include AXIM’s proprietary chewing gum products CanChew+® and MedChew Rx® which have been developed to treat IBS symptoms and the treatment of pain and spasticity associated with MS, respectively.

“At AXIM, we’re committed to best practices and innovation, and the fact that we can apply this new and fully cGMP compliant process to a number of applications is very exciting,” said Anastassov. “We’re confident that our work in developing both these cGMP methods, along with our diversified delivery systems and products, will expand the pharmaceutical cannabinoid market and broaden the potential areas of application based on specific indications.”

According to analyst surveys, the year 2018 is shaping up to be very good for renewed healthcare development in the marijuana industry. Markets are expected to experience a revolution through new lines of scientifically-proven medical cannabis products that are designed to treat various illnesses.

This creates excellent long-term opportunities for investors that are looking to gain exposure in the earliest stages. One of the most important dynamics shaping the development of the medical cannabis industry is the concerted effort that is required to advocate it’s use to patients and aiding them for medical reasons.

Evidence of progress in these areas has gradually become apparent in the United States, as more than 10,000 patients have registered for the seven-week medical marijuana program Florida since last June. When compared with the data reports from previous years, this number of registered patients has increased to more than 60%. Two months later, Hawaii’s first-ever licensed medical marijuana dispensary was actually forced to close (temporarily) due to unexpected patient demand and lack of supply.

Changing Medical Landscape

With the success of these previous efforts to educate the public about the potential health benefits of cannabis, more and more people are shifting their views on the marijuana plant (and the products derived from it). Additionally, scientific studies conducted in other countries have resulted in a growing number of medical cannabis products making their way into the US market through partnerships.

Expanding Markets

Some analysts have argued that if medical cannabis was made legalized in all 50 US states, sales of more than $4 billion could be seen every year. In the US alone, it is believed that the medical cannabis market will grow to more than $19 billion by 2025.

Since cannabis has traditionally been illegal in many parts of the world, it has not been made easily available for any laboratory testing in all settings. As a result, further studies that could expose its potential medical benefits are lacking. But with the fast-changing global regulatory landscape, it is clear that the common perspective of cannabis is shifting toward the positive side of the spectrum — and this stands to benefit the market value of companies that have been able to establish themselves at the ground level.

Given the current trends in the legalization of marijuana in many US states and other countries worldwide, the cannabis industry could quadruple its size in the next ten years.

Industry Profile: Medipure Pharmaceuticals

With various cannabis companies already showing better than expected earnings results, a growing number of investors are excited about the arrival of newcomers in the market. Rising biopharmaceutical company Medipure Pharmaceutical Inc. is looking like one of these companies, and its impressive product pipeline could provide major innovations for the industry in coming quarters.

At its core, Medipure Pharmaceuticals is an incubator group and network of strategic partnerships that works on various cannabinoid-based medications for pain, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, immune disorders, and even dermatological conditions like psoriasis. Aside from cannabinoids, Medipure Pharmaceuticals also works in the development of drugs containing other controlled substances, as well as plant-derived products.

With more than 1.5 billion people seeking medical treatment in these key areas of the market, pain management is the largest consumer target indicated by the company. This is one reason Medipure Pharmaceuticals has many analysts excited as there is a strong belief that the company will bring more revenue to the sector.

Key Developments:

Recently, Medipure Pharmaceuticals has announced the expansion of its corporate offices and research laboratories in order to further improve their services.

The expansion of the corporate office is currently in progress and is expected to be finished during the first quarter of the year. The initial construction of the laboratory was finished December 1, 2017, with the next stages planned to be finished before July 2018.

The new research laboratory will be searching for cannabis components that can be made into non-addictive drugs.

The new research laboratory conducts full narcotics research, allowing doctors to easily compare their findings to that of the effects of known painkillers like Oxycontin. The study will be strictly monitored to ensure if it follows the security protocols of Health Canada.

These endeavors within Medipure Pharmaceuticals will not only benefit shareholders but could bring cannabis closer to the forefront of medical research. The cannabis market is still in its earliest stages and support for its legalization is still very high despite severe opposition and attempts to block states that have already implemented their new medical cannabis laws. But it is difficult to turn a battleship around once it has started moving. Ultimately, the strong momentum and supportive trends in cannabis companies like Medipure Pharmaceutical should make this sector one of the most exciting growth industries in the next decade.

Free therapeutic forethought will be scrapped as Australians are compelled to pay $7 to see a specialist, get a blood test or a x-ray from one year from now as the legislature cuts $10.5 billion from health spending.

An outing to the specialist that brings about a blood test and a medicine will smolder a $56.70 opening in the pocket of a general patient from one year from now, retired people will need to pay $20.80 for the same administrations.

The cash spared from this and different lessenings will be put into a $20 billion Medical Research Future Fund the administration says will be the greatest on the planet and it will be tasked with discovering a cure for growth and dementia.

“Health services have never been allowed to citizens so patients are constantly asked to make a humble commitment towards their expense,” Treasurer Joe Hockey said the previous evening.

Open doctor’s facility financing will be sliced by $2 billion as the Abbott government reneges on Labor’s health change bargain with the states.

Furthermore the states will be offered force to present another charge for GP sort healing center crisis office visits.

You’ll need to hold up three years, not two, between Medicare subsidized eye check ups and the Medicare discount for optometrist administrations will be cut.

Medicare refunds for master and all health services with the exception of GP consideration will be solidified which could leave patients confronting higher charges as specialists expand their expenses in accordance with swelling.

Subsidizing for open dental services will be cut by $390 million leaving state run open dental services in the reel and a huge number of patients sick pass up a major opportunity for dental care.

More individuals will be denied an assessment discount for private health protection as the administration solidifies the methods test on the tax cut for three years from July 2015.

While it will get to be simpler for beneficiaries and those no getting Family Tax Benefit A to meet all requirements for the Medicare security net that bails patients with extensive out of pocket costs.

Families who receive the family tax break will need to use around $46 all the more on medicinal services before they meet all requirements for the security net.

The sum patients get once again on their medicinal costs under the security net may fall when the legislature tops the sum it pays patients under the health net plan at 150 for every penny of the Medicare timetable charge in an offer to rein cheating specialists who exploited the plan to build their salaries.

Mass charging will end from July one year from now when the legislature slices the Medicare discount paid to Gps, pathologists and radiologists.

This will drive them to present new charge for fundamental therapeutic services on the off chance that they need to keep up their wage.

The charge will hit all patients incorporating one in five individuals whose specialist does not mass bill on the grounds that it will be accomplished by cutting the Medicare refund by $5.

Patients who see a non mass charging specialist will see their out of pocket costs climb from a normal $27 to $32 under the change.

Mass charged patients will be hit with a $7 charge for seeing a specialist, this is the sum specialists will need to charge in the event that they need to keep certain services motivating force installments..

General patients will need to pay the charge each time they see a specialist however beneficiaries will just need to pay the charge on ten visits to the specialist and folks will just need to pay the charge for ten visits for every tyke.

This same $7 charge will be added to the expense of blood and urine and other pathology tests (87 for every penny are at present mass charged) and X-rays, Mris and other medicinal imaging tests (74.8 for every penny are presently mass charged).

The expense of seeing a master is situated to climb after the legislature forced a stop on all Medicare discounts aside from GP installments from July in the not so distant future.

This methods when authorities raise the charges they charge their patients to keep pace with swelling the Medicare refund patients accept won’t build letting them with a bigger alone for pocket cost.

Fewer than one in three pro administrations are right now mass charged and patients are as of now paying more than $57 in out of pocket costs to see them.

Despite the fact that it guaranteed throughout the decision to scrap work’s methods test on private health protection the administration has chosen to expand the amount of individuals who are gotten by it.

It has done this by forcing a three year solidify on the pay edges families must meet before they start losing their duty refund that helps them with the expense of health trust premiums.

This will mean thousands more people will lose some or the greater part of their private protection duty discount as pay ascents push their earnings over the $88,000 limit for people and $176,000 for families.

Together these measures will spare the administration $1.7 billion in excess of five years.

THERE is faith and hope in the hearts of pleased Sydney folks Renee Young and Simon Howie, yet more than anything there is love.

The couple’s infant twin girls are only six days old yet as of recently a medicinal wonder, conceived with partitioned, indistinguishable confronts and separate brains in a solitary skull, and offering the same body.

The two young girls, aptly named Faith and Hope, arrived last Thursday after a short work, with Ms Young first being taken to Blacktown Hospital before being surged by ambulance to Westmead Children’s Hospital.

Faith and Hope are the aftereffect of an extremely extraordinary condition known as disrosopus, where a child is conceived with two faces.

Fewer than 40 human disrosopus cases are known to have been conceived. Considerably fewer survived past conception.

The couple said despite the fact that the infant just had one body, regardless they referred to them as their lovely child twins.

“I think they’re lovely and Simon thinks they’re beautiful so truly that is the only thing that matters,” Ms Young said in an interview with A Current Affair.

The folks, who recently had seven kids together preceding the young girls’ entry, uncovered the variation from the norm throughout pregnancy however ruled against an abortion.

“I might say, if I get two days with the infant, I just get two days with the child, at any rate I have some time with it,” Ms Young said.

In any case the couple are certain they will invest significantly more of an opportunity with their infant young ladies than that.

“A little good fortune, a smidgen of faith, a bit of hope, surely we’ll turn out the other side, as long as they’re contenders and they continue battling, there is no reason to worry,” Mr Young said.

Imperial Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists president Michael Permezel said conjoined twins were amazingly uncommon.

Something like one in 30,000-50,000 pregnancies prepare a conjoined twin, however only one in 200,000 makes it to conception.

“It is because of the inadequate part of the fetus,” Professor Permezel said. “At the point when the developing life parts prior, you wind up with indistinguishable twins, yet when it incompletely parts, which is generally a bit later, you wind up with a conjoined circumstance.”

Maternal fetal solution expert Dr Glenn Gardener, a master in muddled pregnancies, said conjoined twins were frequently joined at the midsection or belly.

“Being joined at the head is the rarest,” he said.

Dr Gardener said it was tricky to anticipate the long haul standpoint for Hope and Faith.

“Having two bodies, where one heart is doing the occupation of pumping blood around both of them, might be considerably more unsafe on account of the probability of heart disappointment,” he said.

“The physical structures in the midsection are most likely steady with a solitary individual, however how the neurology functions and how the brain is associated – that is truly tricky to figure out if they will work regularly.”

Despite reports the disbursement review committee might introduce the co-payment in next month’s budget, Health Minister does not comment on budget speculation.

“I’m not commenting one way of the other on the budget speculation,” Mr Duttion said in an interview at Parliament House today.

But he objected that the government cannot guarantee Medicare is sustainable by offering services for free to those who can afford to spring.

Health Minister told reporters that people making more money in a year should not be expected to go to the doctor at no cost. He added that it is a reasonable question to ask, hence strengthen Medicare without having to give free services in hundred of millions annually in a country like Australia.

“We will take care of those who can’t take care of themselves”, he said.

Maurice Newman, head of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Council, showed his support behind the co-payment proposal.

“It doesn’t seem to me to be just that if I go to the doctor that my consultation should be free. I should of course make some contribution to that,” Mr. Newman told ABC TV.

He said that there should be basic safety net and he didn’t think that anyone would disagree and that his safety net is different from other’s safety net.

It is also reported that the $6 GP co-payment won’t exempt anyone and that includes Seniors. If by any chance it will be pursued without the proposed goals to exempt the seniors and chronically ill patients, this will make the seriously ill to deter from seeking medical advice when required.

Tennessee’s Vanderbilt University researchers surveyed over 5 thousand 10 to 11 year-olds and found that those who ate fast food for every meal received almost 20% lower academic points than healthy eaters, World Research Foundation reported.

A hands-on study to once again prove bad affects of junk food involved 5000 school students. Pupils were administered tests in literacy and mathematics, researchers found a direct correlation between the amount of sugar and high fat foods that they students stated they consumes and their performance on the tests.

Students who said that they ate “junk food” 4 to 6 times each week scored an average of 6.96 points lower in reading, while the pupils who stated that they ate “junk food” daily received 16.07 points below average.

The research supports the opinions of food experts that a healthier diet can improve a child’s various aspects that can affect a child’s education, such as concentration, attention span, learning ability, brain function and even behavior.

Direct link between brain activity and junk food has been researched before. According to a study in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, toddlers who eat a diet high in processed foods and sugars may have a slightly lower IQ later in life.

Vanderbilt University has conducted several researches on effects on junk food. One of them from 9 years back was opposed to vending machines serving soft drinks, potato chips and cookies. Between 2006 and 2010, a study found, about half of the schools had vending machines, stores and cafeterias that offered unhealthy foods.

Because vending machines have been an extra income for schools they are still a big part of schools equipment. Just this year government has begun reducing childhood obesity by offering healthy snacks in vending machines.

According to an article in the world’s leading general medical journal The Lancet, lack of movement causes heart disease, diabetes and even cancer.

Research compared the statistics of sporting activities in 2008 and found that every tenth person died as a cause of lack of movement.

“We now know that physical inactivity is a significant predictor of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity, some cancers, poor skeletal health, some aspects of mental health, and overall mortality, as well as poor quality of life,” say the authors of “physical activity: more of the same is not enough.”

Another article describes a 51-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes and a tumour due to weight gain. The situation in teenagers aged 13-15 is even more troubling as only every fifth of them is involved in physical activities.

Physical activities not being promoted enough

The Lancet has taken the lack of movement issue under a microscope. Although people are encouraged to exercise by health associations, there has been far too little consideration of the social and physical environments that enable such activity to be taken.

Although exercise can benefit every part of the body and substantially extend lifespan, it receives little respect from doctors or society. „This passive attitude towards inactivity, where exercise is viewed as a personal choice, is anachronistic, and is reminiscent of the battles still being fought over smoking,“ the article says.

Lack of movement is a concern only in developed industrial countries, although more than 80% of the world’s population lives in low-income and middle-income countries there hasn’t been any thorough research conducted in those areas.

Men and women in all ages are recommended to exercise at least 150 minutes per week, minimum for children is considered 60 minutes.

A recent study of people older than 65 found that drinking more than 3 cups of coffee a day avoided the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.

Researchers from the University of South Florida and the University of Miami monitored the memory and thinking process of 124 people, ages 65 to 88, in Tampa and Miami.

Co-author Dr. Gary Arendash said all of the patients presented early signs of the disease with plasma caffeine levels above the critical level experienced no conversion to Alzheimer’s disease during the two-to-four year follow-up period.

Australians should be safe, because they, unlike other Asian countries, are considered to be the nation of coffee drinkers according to the Hot Drinks in Australia to 2013 report. It projects that Australians will buy 23 million kilograms of coffee products this year, rising slightly to 23.4 million in 2013.
According to the report instant coffee accounted for about 80 per cent of all coffee consumed in the home. That habit might be useful to overcome. Instant coffee is high in acrylamide, a chemical compound that has been shown to cause cancer in animals. Also, a preliminary 2009 study by a Durham University team in England showed that people who drink seven cups or more of instant coffee a day are at a high risk of suffering hallucinations. Even though the research is not confirmed it might be safer to stick with brewed coffee.
