Profits Rise for James Hardie

August 15, 2012 by rochelle in Business with 0 Comments

For the quarter ending June 30, James Hardie has achieved a net profit of $68.5 million US, marking in an improvement of the company’s sales volume.

The profits by this building products manufacturer reflected that of sales in the United States and Europe, despite the global economic crisis.

Profit for its Australian operations, however, contributed little to the overall results, as the housing market in the region has declined in the last few years. Neighboring New Zealand’s market, meanwhile, remains subdued.

The company said that this isn’t the case in the United States where builder confidence is slowly improving and potential buyers of houses and properties are also increasing. The overall economy, however, is still dealing with credit conditions, unemployment and low consumer confidence.

Despite this, James Hardie is confident that succeeding profit reports for the rest of 2012 will continue to improve.
