Work At Home Option Helps Cut Gas Demands

May 17, 2012 by rochelle in Business with 0 Comments

With many companies giving their employees options to work from home instead of daily commuting to and from the office, it may be time for the government to reconsider offering tax incentives to businesses that allow this.

Since many workers today are now are opting to work from home, there’s a possibility of a reduction in the demand for gasoline, thereby, thus lowering cost and other expenses the government needs to make.

Additionally, reducing the amount and effort it takes for daily commutes brings many benefits for everyone. As it is, the constant travel from home to work wastes a lot of gasoline and contributes to pollution and other inconveniences like road mishaps and car maintenance for its owners.

Today, companies can use Internet-based phone systems and other applications that let their workers keep in touch, or conduct business meetings with their clients, while they are settled and working home base.

Technology has also made it possible for employers to keep track of productivity and efficiency using various software and devices.

The drawback to this, however, is not everyone is set for a home-based environment while working. But a few adjustments can be made especially if employees see how much hours they can save from sitting in traffic and wasting gasoline. These are hours that can be used for overtime and other work-related task at home.
